Postdoc Brewing Forges Rugby Partnership

The sport of rugby is steeped in culture, and one symbolic expression is the connection with beer. Rugby is, relatively, new to the United States, but the creation of Major League Rugby has officially begun the rugby movement in America. For everyone that has rucked, mauled and scrummed, you know that the rugby relationship with beer is nothing new; it was brought to American rugby football clubs from overseas. However, in Washington state, Postdoc Brewing is bringing rugby, beer and community together.
Co-owners of Postdoc Brewing and a full-blooded rugby family, Debbie and Jonny Chambers found themselves with the opportunity to forge a partnership with the first major league rugby team in the Pacific Northwest, the Seattle Seawolves. Now, after much discussion, craft beer lovers can now watch professional rugby at Postdoc, as well as enjoy a glass of Ruck This! Session IPA (as well as, the Blondilocks Blonde Ale and Kilty MacSporran Scottish Ale) at the Starfire Arena during the Seawolves home rugby matches.
Since the Seawolves are away in New Orleans this Saturday, May 12th, make sure you head over to the Seawolves watch party at Postdoc starting at 9:30 AM (click on hyperlink for more details). The match starts at 10:00 AM and they are playing NOLA Gold. The watch party will be a place for the rugby community (new and old) to come together to watch the game. Plus, kids and dogs are welcome to join in the festivities. As always, there will be plenty of beer to choose from, including Ruck This IPA, and a new beer, Ruck That Pale Ale. Finally, In honor of the first away game, Postdoc will be giving away a Seawolves Away Game Jersey.
Make sure you mark your calendar, not only for the Seawolves watch party, but for the player appearance scheduled for Friday May 18th at 6:00 PM at Postdoc. So far the player(s) that will make an appearance is a surprise, but I was told to follow/like Postdoc on Facebook for the highly anticipated announcement coming very soon.

Jonny has been playing rugby since he was a boy in Ireland and he now referees for the Pacific Northwest Rugby Union (PNRFU).
Every so often, you can find the Northwest Old Boys (NOBs) rugby team socializing at Postdoc following their matches at Marymoor Park.
