Every year the month of June comes and goes, but Pride is year round. If you are not familiar, June is the month in which we commemorate the Stonewall Riots of 1969. Pride month is about celebrating love, building unity and honoring diversity with ultimate goal of achieving equal rights.

Even though we are in the midst of Pride month, you can still support the LGBTQI community. There are many ways to support the LGBTQI community. Here are just some examples on how you can get involved:

Learn some history
Support LGBTQI nonprofit organizations
Support youth LGBTQI centers
Donate to LGBTQI organizations
Attend Pride events
Volunteer at Pride events
Celebrate Pride on social media
Buy artwork from LGBTQI artists
Support LGBTQI business owners
Conact your state and federal representatives
Listen to your LGBTQ friends and family members and support them

If you not ready to dive-in head first to support the LGBTQI community, you can always support LGBTQI friendly companies, specifically Montucky Cold Snacks (MCS). Since the beginning, MCS has been donating to organizations in all the states they distribute their beer. Here are some that are LGBTQI specific that they support: One Colorado (CO), Big Sky Pride (MT), Q Center (OR), Gay City (WA), Lambert House (WA), Courage MKE (WI) and more.

Kayla, a representative from Montucky Cold Snacks, shared with me their hopes and dreams for the LGBTQI community:

“MCS wants to support the LGBTQI community in any way we can. We want to get their message out to the masses in hopes for equality for all. Love is love and we will support this community forever. Our "drinking with a cause" initiative began the day the company idea began, it's a part of who we are and will continue to be. Our communities are important to us and our business and MCS strives to grow the company with the mindset of helping others.”

MCS believes that breweries can start giving back today. MCS has been donating back to local charities since their inception with their 8% Pledge. As a craft beer consumer, you can help direct where the money is donated with just a click of a button on their Cause selector.

Breweries just need to pick a cause in their area (or anywhere) and start donating. I also believe that if your local brewery is not supporting a charity or non profit organization, then take the initiative to organize an event (maybe in partnership with a brewery) to raise money and awareness for a cause.
